Pieter van Zyl

Dr. Pieter van Zyl obtained his MSc (cum laude) and PhD degrees in Computer Science, specializing in Information Security. He performed various executive roles, including strategic planning, business architecture, and process management. Together with his wife, Joan, they founded Demix and grew it into an industry leader delivering global Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) services. He is a certified high-maturity CMMI Lead Appraiser and Instructor and certified in all CMMI add-on domains, covering Development, Services, Supplier Management, Security, Safety, People, and Data. He is the managing director of Demix and the managing director of a new startup company, SirveZone.



Jared Twigg

Jared Twigg is a professional in the IT industry with over 13 years of experience, specializing in development, system configuration, and IT support, along with an extensive background in various managerial roles.

During his tenure at Demix, his journey included significant positions at Demix (Beijing) Information Technology, where he led as a director and steered the Appraisal Services Program across the Asia region, showcasing his capability to manage and enhance IT services on a large scale. 

His expertise in methodologies such as CMMI, Agile, and Waterfall demonstrates his experience as an IT and Configuration Management Manager, Scrum Master, Process Engineer, Instructor, and LA support, among others.

His expertise is further validated by delivering and co-authoring Demix’s 6-Sigma and high-maturity concepts training and his involvement in over 300 SCAMPI Class A/Benchmark appraisals.

He holds a Certified CMMI V2.0 & V3 Lead Appraiser for Development and a Certified CMMI Professional, and Certified CMMI V3 Practitioner status across multiple model components ISACA certification. Additionally, he possesses a Master's Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, with specializations in Teaching Business English and Teaching English to Young Learners.



Francois van Niekerk

Francois van Niekerk has been involved with various aspects of Information & Communications Technology (ICT) since 1980. He completed his BSc Computer Science degree in 1979 and BSc (hons) degree in 1989.

He has managed various development projects as project / programme manager, in the banking industry. He also worked extensively in the ICT Architecture areas for South African banks and Eskom, the major Electricity utility in South Africa. Francois assisted Eskom to establish an IS Portfolio Office and implement portfolio management tools for the ICT and engineering fields.

While consulting in the industry Francois has always stayed involved in the academic fields, assisting the South African Qualifications Authority to develop outcomes-based qualifications for the ICT industry, acting as the African regional moderator for NCC Education, a UK based education company.

Francois has more recently expanded his interest in quality assurance into the process improvement field and has been a certified CMMI Lead Appraiser since 2016. In 2019 he completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (Operations & Logistics) in Auckland, while assisting Demix to expand its global footprint.

 

Francina Botha

Francina Botha's illustrious career trajectory is marked by a progression that reflects her dedication and proficiency in the Information Technology Industry. She embarked on her professional journey as a trainee software developer, steadily advancing through roles as a senior developer, designer, analyst, and project manager. Demonstrating exceptional leadership skills, she further ascended to positions of senior manager and executive, attesting to her ability to navigate and excel in diverse facets of the industry. This evolution underscores her comprehensive understanding of Software Capability Maturity Model (CMM) and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) since 2001, as well as her extensive experience supporting various systems across industries such as Petro Chemical, Retail, Disability, and Financial Institutions.

Her fervent interest in business processes within the IT industry propelled her to assume the role of a CMMI Lead Appraiser, wherein she actively contributes to guiding companies in enhancing their performance.

Andries van der Walt

Andries is a CMMI Lead Appraiser, COBIT Assessor, and an IT Strategy, Architecture and GRC consultant with more than 30 years’ experience in IT management and enterprise scale solution delivery. He holds Industrial Engineering and MBA degrees.

He has worked extensively across Financial Services, Government, Energy and the Mining sectors in countries cross the globe. He has led the IT Department of one of the highest rated insurance companies in South Africa and has also been deeply involved in the solution design and implementation of a new business platform for a multinational organisation. Other projects included working with several international and multi-national organizations on IT Governance and establishing new EA capabilities government departments across the world. Furthermore, he has assessed the cybersecurity and privacy capabilities of several large organisations.

Andries has successfully completed more than 100 CMMI appraisals and many other capability assessments using COBIT 2019, NIST CSF and ISO/IEC 27001.

Andries is also the architect and technical lead for the ASSESSIUM.PRO assessment and appraisal platform.
